What prompted you to join the EANGMT?:At a very early time in my career (E-4) I was ASKED! Then I was mentored by many great NCO's, both Air and Army. Because of their encouragement, I was the youngest elected board member (Treasurer) at that time - 1974.

What significant legislation did you see the EANGMT enact? State version of Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act.

QUOTE: "We must encourage everyone to join. Just like the NCO's that mentored me when I was an E-4, we need to do that on a regular basis for our young soldiers and airmen. Once you become an NCO, membership in professional organizations like EANGMT/EANGUS should become a no-brainer. You are not only helping your career but more importantly that of your subordinates. Commissary privileges, BX/PX access, the Montgomery GI Bill, VA Home Loans, $250,000 SGLI, the increase to 90 Inactive Duty Points per year for retirement, Dental Care Insurance, Access to TRICARE while on active duty, improved BAH and BAS, tort protection (protection from lawsuits) while on inactive duty and many other benefits did not even exist when I was ASKED to join. In just 30 short years, we have moved mountains in Congress, the State Legislature, DoD, NGB and the state Department of Military Affairs. While there are many professional military organizations to join, EANGMT/EANGUS is the only organization that is specifically representing you, the enlisted Air or Army National Guard member."
